First grade Circle Looms

After the first graders decorated a thick paper plate, we all sat in a circle and followed a step by step tutorial on how to create a circle loom.  Easier said than done, but we all powered through this and created perfect circle looms!

The next day, we reviewed the over/under method of weaving and figured out how to apply it to our circle loom.  The students practiced tying their own knots and working independently, through challenges. 

They have completed their looms and are hanging across the foreign language room.
