I read a book about the history of Paul Cezanne to the 3rd grade class. Like Jackson Pollock, the students enjoyed hearing about how he struggled in art class. In this unit, the 3rd graders will be working on the following objectives:
-creating value to represent implied form
-drawing from observation
-stippling, hatching, cross-hatching
-composition
They first practiced drawing a still life and filling in the space on their paper.
